Thredbo

Our trip to the Snow, along the monaro highway south to cooma.
The shops that line the main street of Cooma, have snow men on their awnings and the snow supplies and hire shops line the streets.

Cooma is a lovely Town with old homes full of character, and tourists everywhere.
The drive south to Thredbo was filled with expectation.

Jindabyne on the way is quite picturesque but I have been spoiled living in Taupo on the largest lake in the Southern hemisphere, it is so big it is tidal.
The snow covered mountains that provide the just another picturesque backdrop in New Zealand and are reflected in the gorgeous fresh water lake. So Jindabyne was a smaller and not as spectacular little township, but pretty all the same.
We came to a pay booth at the entrance to the Kosciusko National park which absolutely astounded me. I hadn't investigated this journey enough and so wasn't prepared for the $29 fee to enter the park for one day.

We were able to pay for our park entrance fee at the news agency at the Thredbo township.
Thredbo is beautiful. the snow everywhere little people dressed in protective snow clothes. The girls threw snow balls and enjoyed tobogganing. we walked one of the tracks and hid from each other ambushing with snow ball volleys, It was exhausting and exhilarating and fun.

Next year we will stay for a Weekend and explore more.
highly recomended visit to the snow.
