Demelza Blitzes her Subjects and gets Great Marks!

It is not like she could produce anything but great results.
Thanks to the tremendous skills given to her by Mr Cole and the teachers at Glen Aplin.

Demelza persevered with the shenanagins at school, she said the kids aren't dumb they just think it is kewel to behave in a socially unacceptable manner and bullying is the norm!

Country Queensland may be considered a bit challenged by some metro types with more choices available to them, but as far as teaching consideration for others and getting on with the job of learning and absorbing information they certainly don't ease off the job.

Glen Aplin is a Peace builders school, and the students are given tools to engage in encouraging accepting behavious that go further than just teaching tolerance.

Armed with these tools the kids don't have to behave in negative play or against authority, because they learn that they have the authority, the world is what they make it, they are given choices and time to reflect on the outcomes of different choices, The result is everyone supports and encourages and gets on with it.

The challenge for the staff at Demelzas school, is to find a pathway to get the kids interested in learning and help them understand what choices are available if they listen and spend time completeing the school work.So few of demelzas peers complete anything required and copy each others work rather than research or think for themselves.

It is as though they just turn up to while away the day, it is a real shame.
Demelza just wishes there were more Mr Coles and Mrs Tullochs.

Demelza is, I guess, naturally curious and she wants to excell and learn as much as she can.She shares her skills too, McCormac ball is a favourite, taught to her by the sports teacher in Stanthorpe: any ball game, Mr Macs rules. ( The adaptation now is Demelzas rules)

She has had no basic scientific knowledge taught to her, as biology and chemistry are taught in high school in Qld which is grade 8.

But in Canberra high school begins with grade 7, so she has missed a year of high school, but topped the class in every subject!

Congratulations DEE the hard work is paying off!

Good on you Demelza. Not only is she beautiful but she is smart. Those attributes will take her a long way in life.
