May Day or Union Day in Queensland

Union Day or labour Day is the 1st of May in Queensland.
The great march through the city to the parkland's at Musgrave park in South Brisbane.

A day to celebrate the rights won for workers, and a day to air grievances and demands from the bosses, to better improve conditions in the workplace.

The camaraderie of workers early in the morning readying themselves for the march holding banners donning shirts and hats and calling out in one voice, shouting with all their hearts the demands of the workers for each union.

I LOVE IT!!

We join our comrades on the march, get a new wardrobe of free T shirts, shout the message, shake a banner at the Premier as he greets the workers at the entrance to the park, hand over the banner, and the fun begins...

Free rides for the kids, jumpy castle, roller coaster and various other carnival rides,...
Free food, burgers kebabs etcetera, and free drinks; lemonade, coke and beer and wine, all because we paid our union dues.

A truly magic day, relax to live music entertainment, and the enjoy the speeches from the various Unions.

A tremendous way to spend the public holiday, I want my holiday!!

No holiday in Canberra, no march no nothing,

One Country, different celebrations, different holidays , It is pretty strange.
